just finished deciphering the DNA code; or that the Academy Award for Best Picture went to The Sound of Music; or that the Grammy for Album of the Year was awarded to Frank Sinatra for September of My Years. But for us, the biggest event of 1966 was that our father, Donald J. Hickey, started our business. Back then the electrical industry was pretty simple; the things that really mattered were hard work, open, honest & fair business practices and strong relationships with manufactures, distributors, and end user installers. Filling up the car for sales calls was less painful as gas was 32¢ a gallon and our customers could mail their purchase orders to us first class for five cents. |
